About Amperecalc

We build calculation tools for the household energy transition — with the care you would normally expect from measurement instruments.

Why we exist

Anyone wanting to know today whether balcony solar pays off will find dozens of calculators. Most multiply peak power by a flat factor, ignore orientation, shading and consumption behaviour — and end by funnelling you into a contact form whose real purpose is selling your address.

Amperecalc is the opposite position. Our calculators simulate 8,760 hours a year, disclose every assumption, and never ask for an email address. They are funded exclusively by labelled advertising.

How we work

  • Every number in the model has a source, and every source is listed in the calculation model.
  • Every parameter we pre-fill can be overridden.
  • No result is flattered: if something does not pay off, it says so.
  • Calculations run in the browser. Inputs never leave the device.
  • Advertising is labelled as advertising and has no influence on results.

Where the data comes from

Irradiation data is based on long-term averages from the German Meteorological Service and the European Commission's PVGIS database. Load profiles derive from the BDEW H0 standard load profile. Price assumptions for electricity, gas and fuel follow publications of the Federal Network Agency and the Federal Statistical Office.

All market data is reviewed quarterly. The date of the last revision appears in each calculator under its assumptions.

Independence

Amperecalc does not sell systems, does not broker installers and receives no commission on purchases. There are no affiliate programmes, no sponsored recommendations and no paid placement.

Advertising space is sold separately from the editorial side. Booking an ad buys visibility — not influence.
